BIG DAY FOR THERON: 'YOUNG ADULT' PREMIERE ALONG WITH A NOM BY THE GOLDEN GLOBES

USA Today spoke with Charlize Theron regarding her big day Thursday with the premiere of her new film 'Young Adult' and receiving a Golden Globe nomination as Best Actress for the film earlier that day.

A Golden Globe nomination and her film's premiere, all in the same day?

"Yeah, these are the moments where you go, what did I do in a past life to deserve all of this?" said a glam Theron on the red carpet. "It's all too much."

But screenwriter Cody wasn't surprised by the accolades Theron's racked up playing Mavis Gary, a shallow former prom queen who, at 37, returns to her hometown to callously snare her (married) high school boyfriend.

"I knew she was going to do an amazing job - she's Charlize Theron - but when I started watching dailies and seeing what she was doing out there, I was like, 'Oh my god,"' said Cody. "Because suddenly the movie was to me, even riskier than it had been on the page. She played it in such a committed and intense way."

The premiere took place in Los Angeles held at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

NEW SWATH ARTICLE IN EMPIRE MAGAZINE'S
2012 MOVIE PREVIEW ISSUE

Empire Magazine released their 2012 Movie Preview edition, and included an overview/review of SWATH. The article has these two pictures and some great quotes from Rupert Sanders and Kirsten Stewart.

The write-up is below.

“This is not a girl by the well with tweety birds,” says Director Rupert Sanders. “I actually wanted to do a war movie.” It’s clear that Sanders take on the Snow White story will be as grim as it is Grimm. While competing 2012 Snow White project, Tarsem Singh’s Mirror Mirror goes for fairy tale bright colours and high camp scheming, this one shows its Snow (Kirsten Stewart) in armour, and promises less sweeping and dusting and more sweep and dust-ups.

Charlize Theron is the Evil Queen who consumes young women to keep herself young and beautiful; Stewart’s Snow White is the big prize who will keep her that way forever; Chirs “Thor” Hemsworth plays the fearless Huntsman ordered to hunt Snow through the big, scary forest; and On Stranger Tides Sam Claflin is the Prince (how charming he is remains to be seen). The eight dwarves (yes, eight. Disney holds the copyright on seven) are played by some of the best British character actors around, from Nick Forst and Ian McShane to Ray Winstone and Bob Hoskins. You wouldn’t know it to look at him – or the budget – but Sanders is a first-time feature director. He is, however, one of the highest-profile commercial men around and a look at his Halo, Call of Duty: Black Ops or Nike spots suggest that the action won’t even make him break a sweat.

Stewart, speaking in LA recently, sounds as fired up as her director. “It’s a true telling of the fairy tale, a little bit closer to the Grimm stories than other versions.” That puts it in direct contrast to Mirror Mirror’s more child-friendly approach; where this one goes for the look of Gladiator or Robin Hood, that Julia Roberts/Lily Collins effort chooses a more farcical, knockabout tone in a clearly artificial world. Which one could debate which of the pair is more faithful to the original, there shouldn’t be much danger of confusing the two – as Stewart acknowledges, “The great thing about having such a brass-tacks base is you rethink who your characters are within the fairy tale and still remain completely true to it because they are fairly undefined. You have really basic attributes and in this case we are bringing it out, I think, un-expected things, a lot is expected of me on this.” Adds, Stewart, who’s been training intensively, “Being strong will not be just an aesthetic thing. I need to have endurance. Snow is someone who has a lineage of leadership in her blood, and she has been beaten down, along with her entire kingdom and her people. I know it sounds really obvious, but it’s a story that should champion people who aren’t obsessed with vanity, someone who has a true heart. It’s a really simple story but it really knocks me out.”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR EB BLOGSTRESS DANCER!!!

Today is Dancer's birthday, so in honor of all of her hard work in creating this beautiful site, and spending countless hours researching and writing all of these stories, I thought I would wish her a happy birthday SWATH style!

Evil Queen: Mirror, mirror, on the the wall...who is the fairest of them all?
Mirror: Sadly, it is not you. Today is Dancer's birthday...you know, the girl who runs that fabulous SWATH site Enchanting Beauty. So today, Dancer is the fairest of them all.

Evil Queen: WHAT??!!??!!!??? This cannot be happening!!! I am the fairest!!! She must pay for her beauty! Bring me the Huntsman...he will take care of this Dancer person for me!

Huntsman: She wants me to do what??? Kill Dancer??? On her birthday?? Well that's just not right! She has made that cool site for our movie and written all those great articles about me. I must go find the prince...he will want to give Dancer a kiss for her birthday.

Prince: Hee hee hee hee...do you think Dancer can see me? I want to surprise her on her birthday!!!

Prince: Uh oh...it seems this beautiful young girl has passed out from too much birthday fun. I should try to wake her up.

Prince: Huh...I really wanted to give Dancer a birthday kiss, but this girl really seems to need one. I hope Dancer doesn't mind.

Snow White: That was the best kiss EVER! That Dancer is a lucky girl! I need to go talk to the Huntsman about planning a party for her!

Snow White: Hey, did you hear it's Dancer's birthday today???
Huntsman: Yeah...and the Queen is all pissed off because Dancer is way hotter than she is. We're going to have to take her down...she cannot ruin Dancer's birthday party.

Snow White: Oh...what should we get her for her birthday? I can bake a kick ass cake!
Huntsman: Sounds good...I will go ravage the forest for some dwarfs to make her a gift. I've heard they are kinda crabby though...they better get in a better mood. Dancer has done a lot of work for us...they better show her how much they appreciate it!

Prince: Hey? Why is my princess cozying up to that brute the Huntsman??? I've got to find this Dancer chick...I will flirt with her and shower her with attention to make Snow White jealous.

Huntsman: Hey dwarfs...put a smile on your face...we are going to a party. Oh crap...do you smell something burning???

Snow White: Oh no!!! That evil queen lit candles on Dancer's birthday cake and it's burning down the village. NOT MY CAKE!!!!

Huntsman: Must save the cake!! Must save the cake!!!!

Snow White: Come on boys...it's time to kick some Evil Queen bootay...she ruined Dancer's cake!!!

Evil Queen: NOOOOO!!! Don't make me into a statue!!! I'm too beautiful to be frozen in milk! I swear I wasn't going to hurt her...I just wanted a piece of that delicious cake. Gurgle...gurgle...gurg.

Snow White: Well, that ought to do it. The Queen will now be the topper on the cake. Time for me to head over to the castle and fire up that big oven to make Dancer a new cake. I've heard the gourmet kitchen is to die for!

Happy Birthday Dancer!!! I hope you have a wonderful birthday! You have done an amazing job promoting SWATH and deserve a day of rest and pampering!!!
Love, Cheermom

KRISTEN STEWART IS THE #1 REASON WHY 2012 "IS GOING TO ROCK!"

2012 will be pretty special for Kristen Stewart as fans know, with three highly anticipated films being released: On the Road (#4), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (#15) and of course, Snow White and the Huntsman.

Glamour UK takes note that this will be Stewart's year as well as they make her #1 on their list of "Why 2012 is Gonna Rock" with the release of SWATH.

What? Kristen Stewart as Snow White

When? Snow White And The Huntsman is due to be released on 1 June.

What’s the buzz about? Starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron and model Lily Cole, we’re aching to see how these Hollywood hotties reinvent this classic fairytale.

Chris Hemsworths The Avengers comes in at #6.We believe with three major films and two being potential blockbuster films, she definitely deserves the number one slot because she does rock!

A WEEK'S NOTICE, NOW IT'S A WRAP...OUR LAST GOOD-BYES TO THE CAST AND CREW...FOR NOW

Now this kind of puts a pit in the bottom of your stomach to see an actual letter indicating that your time with SWATH is over. Filming just completed today in the UK. Sam Claflin tweeted his last scene was completed today.

Bags are being packed, airline arrangements are complete, sight locations are going back to normal, sets torn down, costumes being placed in trunks or in storage closets and the trucks are backing up for loading. Yes, this means we are on our way to actually seeing what Director Rupert Sanders has been up to soon; however, the process of making it was just so much fun.

Where do we begin? The cast.  The wonderful cast. Our first encounter with the cast members were the stunt people and army guys both with characters identified and unidentified. They provided fans with tweets, not giving any details regarding filming, describing what they were going through while giving us a laugh or two, right Jess?
Jess at fight training
We got to meet, via Twitter, Ashley Beck, Jess Liaudin, both Duncan's Mais and Casey etc..., and later the dwarf stand-ins (one day we will know their official title) with the lovely Craig, Karen, Jemma, Edd and Paul. We are sorry we could not reveal more, if any, *winks*.  Let us not forget the first stunt lady we had the pleasure of meeting, Cecily Fay. We later met Combat International who is a pretty special group of guys. It was an honor to meet you all.

Duncan Mais at costume fitting
We knew when you had a rough day, when you had to soak your sore bones or when you obtained bumps and bruises all in a days' work. It left fans to wonder what on earth Rupert was doing to you guys. We just wanted to reach out and give you a hug and a hot cup of tea because you were in London after all.  *chuckles*

To the cast, this movie making thing may be standard practice and they may be asking themselves why would fans care about a cell phone being lost in the middle of a muddy, horse charging army scene? It's because they just do.  Every tid bit even the mundane, they have to have it. By the way, we are still wondering where that phone was hidden under all that armor and how did it get out?

Sam Claflin's hair glue
It is the process and knowing how the process works.  This means something to fans. To know how their beloved film is being made and the people who are making it.  It is also nice to know that we are all normal human beings with frailties and feelings that we can share.

Combat International
So as the army's journey came to an end, we began to meet the extras. Oh the extras. ExtraGeorge, JohnSheppard05, there were just so many and they were so much fun too.

They were so enthusiastic about filming, that a few of them did an "oopsie daisy" by revealing a little too much information ("TMI") to the fans.  But you know what? Who cares!  OK we know the powers to be may have cringed because they want to disseminate things a certain way with the competition thing and all; however, there was really no harm and no foul because there's no competition.

@ExtraGeorge
Fans loved the extras.
Can you blame them for being enthusiastic about being in potentially one of the biggest films in Hollywood history? The fans understand and give you hugs for being chastised for your actions only because you were just so excited. It's OK because anyone who says they never had a slip of the tongue is just not being real.

So thanks to the films' extras for sharing your love and enthusiasm for the film.  You will cherish your experience forever. Cheers to you.

Then there is the crew. James Baker who tweeted his care of the horses as he took the fans along to every location.

Herdingclouds provided the first non-paparazzi exciting photos of all...KRISTEN STEWART AND CHRIS HEMSWORTH IN FULL COSTUME!!   We do remember that day so well.  He even made sure the fans saw them first and that was huge.  We thank him so much for that.

Fans had the pleasure of receiving occasional tweets from the prince and the dwarfs whose tweets were retweeted furiously throughout the fandom.  Sam Claflin, Johnny Harris and Nick Frost were the consistent tweeters.

When Harris and Frost tweeted that they were going to set, you just knew that they were going to be a part of an entire group of great actors. Bob Hoskins, Ian McShane, Eddie Marsan, Toby Jones and Brian Gleeson.  Great actors that chose to be in this fantasy film together about a children's fairy tale.  It still amazes fans.

When Sam tweeted, fans went into a frenzy of speculation if he was or was not with Snow White. However, there is one picture that is going to be missed when posting Sam's tweets.  The  prince on his royal couch.  It totally fits the character.

Fans also had a chance to follow the cast as they worked on and promoted other projects: The Fades, Breaking Dawn, The Avengers, Tintin etc...  For fans in the U.S., Johnny Harris's The Fades, will appear on BBC America in January.

We also shared Craig and Karen's documentary Seven Dwarfs.  Although we were unable to see it here in the states, from all accounts including tweets from fans and from the brief YouTube videos, it was a compelling piece of work.

Then you have Eddie Marsan, Toby Jones and Nick Frost as well as Johnny starring in films with potential Oscar nominations  such as Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy; War Horse and TinTinFans cannot wait to see what the future holds for all of the cast.

There were a lot of great set soldiers providing photographs and descriptions from their encounters with Kristen or Chris to their encounter with a famous bodyguard. Thanks to @imoviei, @Jesm30, @KristenStewbabe, the Murphy sisters our friends at the Marloes etc...

The cold, the rain, the mud, the 3am call times, the overnight shoots, the cast, the crew and the set soldiers placed us right there.  We thank you all for the wonderful journey, a journey that is only beginning...there is more to come.
