STEWART IN 'ON THE ROAD'  BOOK

Kristen Stewart is featured in a book written by Jack Kerouac biographer Gerald Nicosia along with Anne Marie Santos called "One and Only - The Untold Story of On the Road" which follows the life of Lu Anne Henderson who Stewart plays in the film On The Road as "MaryLou".

It shows Stewart as well as her film co-stars preparing for the film in addition to giving the story of Henderson's life.

The Taunton Daily Gazette gives an overview of what the book is about.

Although portrayed as Dean Moriarty's naïve and underage wife in the novelized tale of Kerouac's cross-country travels, Nicosia believes she was a crucial in the formative stages of Kerouac's friendship with Neil Cassidy. Their travels spurred “On the Road,” which in turn launched the “Beat” generation into international fame.
“LuAnne really reveals in the book that they didn't like each other and they didn't trust each other when they first met. … She began to almost force them to respect each other and finally they did come together,” said Nicosia. “She played a pivotal role, and if she hadn't done that, there wouldn't be a book ‘On the Road,’ and if there was no ‘On the Road,’ there probably wouldn't have been a beat generation.”

Nicosia also recently ran a “beatnik boot camp” to aid the cast of the first major motion picture adaptation of “On the Road,” which will star Hollywood heavyweights such as Kristen Stewart, Amy Adams, Viggo Mortenson, Kirsten Dunst and Steve Buscemi. That film is being directed by Walter Salles, of “Motorcycle Diaries” fame, and is slated for a 2012 release.

The book is available on Amazon here as well as other book store locations.
